Changes for Ashgate and Holme Hall patients – we are phasing out email ordering now that we have an online ordering system that is fully integrated with our clinical system.  This will be more secure and is inline with our drive towards a quality service.

All medication must be ordered in writing, preferably using the order form attached to your repeat prescription as this makes it easier for us to process.  If you do not use this, please ensure you put your name adress and date of birth on the letter along with the medication you require. This must be dropped into the prescription post box inside the porch, AT LEAST 2 working days before you need to collect your prescription but not more than 10 days before.  If you lose our order form the Receptionist can print off another one.

In order to support patients who need to get through on the phones in the morning for urgent medical attention, we no longer take any prescription queries over the phone before 11:00am.

To ensure accuracy, we do not accept telephoned requests.

Prescriptions will be ready for collection as follows

Unless there is a query on your prescription, request for prescriptions received by 11:30am each day will be available for collection according to the following schedule.

If you want your prescription posted to you, please supply a stamped addressed envelope.

Alternatively, you can nominate a participating Chemist to collect your prescriptions from the surgery and prepare your medicines ready for you to collect directly from the pharmacy. All you need to do is let the surgery know which Chemist you wish your medicines to be prepared at, drop your repeat prescription request into the surgery at least 3 working days before you require your medicines and collect them from the Pharmacy.

Some pharmacies provide a medication delivery service for housebound patients. Please enquire at your local pharmacy.

Prescriptions will not be given to children under 16 years.

Drug Names

Our policy is to use generic names wherever possible. Many companies produce the same product under different brand names. Generic names avoid confusion and are included in all labelling in smaller print under the brand name.
