Help out of hoursstethoscope

If you need to speak to a GP or see somebody after the surgery is closed, you can contact the out-of-hours GP service by dialling 111.

111 will get you through to a team of highly-trained advisers, who are supported by experienced nurses. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, and give you the health care advice you need to direct you to the right local service. If required, they will arrange for you to be seen out of hours.

If your condition is not urgent or serious please delay your call until the following day and speak to the GP on call or make an appointment. Out of hours services and Accident & Emergency departments do not have access to your full medical records and can therefore only deal with your acute issues with the information you provide. It is always best for you to be seen at the Surgery where there is access to your full records.

If they think you need an ambulance, they will send one immediately – just as quickly as if you have dialled 999.
