Phlebotomy

Posted: 3 March 2017

You may well be aware that this service has recently undertaken several reviews as we have battled to make it run smoothly for our patients and our staff. Due to high demand on our blood clinics and a reduction in alternative services for phlebotomy outside of the practice, we have once again had to undertake a review. The conclusion of this is that we believe there is no alternative other than to revert to an appointment system as our phlebotomist has been forced to work at potentially unsafe levels. This will mean a safer service and shorter wait times within the surgery once patients arrive for their test. This will commence on Monday April 3rd 2017

We are contracted to take blood tests within a 7 day period and we are confident that this revision to our service will still provide for this.
